Making photography move, without getting in its way.
Queer PHOTO Festival celebrates queer photography across Melbourne, presented in partnership with Midsumma Festival and PHOTO 2024.
Working within the existing identity, I developed a motion system that brought the festival’s predominantly static photography to life through considered animation, typography, transitions and pacing, without taking focus away from the artists’ work.
The result was a suite of 15 and 30 second digital campaigns that extended the Queer PHOTO identity into motion and made the most of the limited video material available.
